Cal Johnson Building

Cal Johson was a historic rehabilitation of a building originally built by Knoxville's first African-American millionaire in 1898. The three-story, mixed-use building contains eight apartment lofts over a ground floor commercial space. A team from Conversion Properties, now with LawlerWood, aided in arranging the combination of a PILOT, a City historic grant, a Central Business Improvement District grant, Historic Tax Credits, and bank financing.
