LawlerWood served as the Project Manager to construct and equip a new $70 million, 89 Bed vertical expansion to the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Heart Hospital in Knoxville, TN. The project includes a large expansion of the Central Energy Plant including 3,000 tons of cooling capacity. The complexities involved in the project include construction on top of an occupied patient tower, relocation of rooftop HVAC unites, multiple phase connection to utilities, relocation of patients, information technology upgrades and an accelerated project schedule. Construction of the 135,000 s.f. tower was completed in the February 2018.
