PROJECT NOTES: LawlerWood developed Ritz Carlton’s 5-star Rose Hall destination resort hotel, conference center and golf course. The 230-acre complex contains a main house/pavilion, 428 guest rooms and suites, 26,000 s.f. of ballroom and meeting space, three full service restaurants, a 16,000 s.f. world class spa, retail space, an enhanced Caribbean Sea beach front, a water sports facility, tennis, a hilltop 18 hole championship golf course designed by internationally renowned Robert von Hagge and club house/fine dining facility and onsite power generation and sewage treatment. The project cost $150M (current dollars) and opened in August 2000. Financing was provided through a combination of private equity and debt from a US Government economic development agency (OPIC) and a Jamaican bank.
