NGMC – OBSERVATION UNIT AND CENTRAL PLANT EXPANSION

LOCATION: Braselton, GA
PROJECT UPDATE: Expansion of the Braselton Hospital has occurred twice since the original base project was completed in April of 2015. The first expansion (a $33M project) consisted of an Obstetrics Unit for Labor & Delivery and a vertical shell expansion totaling 100,000 SF. The second expansion (a $32M project) currently underway consists of 40,000 SF expansion including a 24 bed Observation Unit and a significant expansion of the Central Energy Plant. The construction team is utilizing Lean Construction Delivery methods and is currently ahead of schedule with completion in April 2018.

In 2011, Northeast Georgia Medical Center hired Lawler-Wood to champion the development of a new 100 bed, greenfield hospital located on 119 acres in Braselton, GA. The 350,000 SF base hospital and medical office building were completed under budget and 2 months ahead of schedule in April 2015. The $188M project was recently awarded a LEED for Healthcare Gold Certification and is setting new standards for hospital design and operation.
