PROJECT NOTES: LawlerWood was retained by Whittle Communications to assemble a two block site and provide comprehensive development services to build its corporate headquarters in downtown Knoxville. This three-story, 250,000 s.f., Georgian style architecture facility was designed by Peter Marino and Associates of New York with local participation from Barber& McMurry Architects. It is a showcase for elaborate interior finishes and authentic building materials and is a landmark in downtown Knoxville. It was completed in 1992 and later sold to the General Services Administration and is the Howard H. Baker Federal Courthouse. It cost approximately $45M (current dollars).
