PROJECT NOTES: LawlerWood developed this multi-tenant, 24-story, 367,000 s.f., class A office building and 420-space garage. It was developed for a bank and has always had a bank as its anchor tenant. Currently, it serves as BB&T’s regional headquarters. LawlerWood’s corporate offices are located in Riverview. The building was financed using a combination of traditional financing and tax increment bonds. The total project cost was approximately $37M (current dollars) in 1986. LawlerWood owned the building for several years and managed and leased it from completion for several other owners including the FDIC, a pension fund, private partnerships and a REIT. Since 2013, the most recent owner self-manages the facility and LawlerWood continues to provide leasing services.
